Todd Blanche says Epstein investigations remain open

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said on July 15, 2026, that the Justice Department still has open avenues to investigate the Jeffrey Epstein case and would act on any new credible evidence. Speaking during his Senate confirmation hearing, Blanche rejected the idea that the DOJ has finished reviewing the case, saying prosecutors could still investigate, indict, and prosecute additional people linked to Epstein’s trafficking network. He also said DOJ officials have met with more than 30 victims and would continue to hear from survivors or their attorneys if they come forward with new information. The department’s earlier 2025 review found no evidence of a client list and no basis for more public disclosures, but Blanche distinguished that completed review from any future criminal cases.
