Museum of American Finance debuts in Boston with free exhibits on money AI Hamilton, currency history, and fintech displays make financial learning fun

The Museum of American Finance has opened a new 5,400squarefoot home on Commonwealth Pier in Boston’s Seaport, marking its first permanent location since leaving Wall Street in 2018 after flooding forced it out. The museum is debuting seven opening exhibits ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary. One of the main attractions is an AIpowered interactive version of Alexander Hamilton, developed with the Fidelity Center for Applied Technology, that lets visitors ask questions in more than 50 languages. The museum’s first exhibit, “America in Circulation,” introduces visitors to U.S. currency from early coins and paper money to modern bills, using displays and touchscreens to explain how money has changed over time and how major historical events shaped it. Museum leaders say the goal is to make financial education more accessible through free admission and exhibits focused on the history of the U.S. financial system, personal finance, and newer topics such as blockchain, crypto, tokenization, and financial technology.
