Evan Gold named general manager of Hamilton Hammers
New York Islanders hire Evan Gold to lead AHL affiliate and boost front office He brings roster, cap and scouting expertise to Hamilton and the NHL team
The New York Islanders have hired Evan Gold as general manager of their American Hockey League affiliate, the Hamilton Hammers, and named him an assistant general manager in the NHL organization.
Gold will help oversee hockey operations in Hamilton while also contributing to the Islanders' front office. His role includes contract negotiations, roster planning, salary cap work and scouting.
A Toronto native, Gold spent 12 seasons with the Boston Bruins organization and most recently served as general manager of the Providence Bruins. He said joining the Islanders is an honour and that he looks forward to working with the team’s players, coaches and staff.
