Penguins draft Ruck twins to keep them together

The Pittsburgh Penguins selected twin brothers Liam and Markus Ruck in the 2026 NHL draft, keeping the pair on the same team after both were projected as secondround picks. Liam Ruck was taken 22nd overall on Friday night, and Markus followed early Saturday with the 39th pick. The brothers, from Osoyoos, British Columbia, have played together for most of their lives and said they had hoped an NHL club would keep them united. The 18yearold forwards are coming off strong seasons with the Medicine Hat Tigers in the Western Hockey League. Liam finished with 104 points, while Markus led him with 108, making them the top two scorers in the Canadian Hockey League. They are expected to play one more WHL season before moving on to the University of North Dakota in 202728.
