A public memorial for Montreal police Const. Mohamed Lamine Benredouane will be held on July 7 at the Bell Centre, according to police. Benredouane was killed on June 22 during a daytime shooting in the CôtedesNeiges neighbourhood. Another man, Michel Mizrahi, also died in the incident, and a second officer was injured before the gunman was killed. Police said a private funeral for Benredouane was held on June 24, and more details about the public ceremony are expected in the coming days. Benredouane is survived by his wife, who is pregnant with their second child, and their threeyearold son.
