OpenAI IPO timeline shifts as Kalshi traders revise expectations
OpenAI IPO odds shift as traders price in a later public debut from the company. See how Kalshi traders are reacting to the latest timeline and market signals.
Traders on prediction market platform Kalshi now expect OpenAI to announce an initial public offering later than previously assumed, following reports that the company may delay a public debut until next year.
Kalshi’s market shows a 59% chance that OpenAI will officially announce an IPO by March 1, 2027. The odds rise to about 73% by June 2027, while only around onethird of traders expect an announcement before Jan. 1.
The change comes after a New York Times report said OpenAI is considering waiting until 2027 to move ahead with an IPO. OpenAI had previously been seen as a likely 2026 listing candidate and confidentially filed to go public on June 8. The report also said the company may be watching market conditions after SpaceX’s public debut and mixed trading performance.
