Three more B.C. Conservative MLAs removed from caucus
B.C. Conservative caucus splits deepen as three MLAs are removed amid turmoil See what the latest shakeup means for leadership, unity and the coming election
Three more B.C. Conservative MLAs have been removed from the party caucus as internal tensions continue to grow, according to the Office of the Clerk in the British Columbia Legislature.
Trevor Halford, Claire Rattée and John Rustad are listed as no longer affiliated with the caucus. Rustad said he was informed twice within hours that he had been removed, while Rattée said she intends to remain an MLA and is among members calling for leader KerryLynne Findlay to resign.
Findlay later confirmed the changes and said the party’s focus should be on voters, especially with a possible election approaching. The situation follows a wider caucus split, allegations involving a private investigator hired to look into party members, and continuing uncertainty over the party’s leadership.
