Anthropic launches Claude connector for Economic Index data

Anthropic has launched a new connector for Claude that gives users direct access to the Anthropic Economic Index, a dataset designed to show how AI is being used across the economy. The company says the tool is meant to make the Index easier to explore for researchers, journalists, policymakers, and anyone curious about how AI is affecting specific jobs, industries, or tasks. Users can ask Claude questions about topics such as which occupations use AI most, how people in different places use Claude, and what tasks are being automated. According to Anthropic, the connector is available now in claude.ai and can be enabled from the connectors menu without any installation. The company also says the answers are based on Claude usage patterns and should be understood with those limits in mind, while the underlying datasets remain publicly available on Anthropic’s website.
