Quebec plans to overhaul Highway 10 between Brossard and Carignan to improve access to the REM for South Shore residents. The project will add one reserved lane in each direction over a 10kilometre stretch, mainly for buses, taxis and vehicles carrying at least two people.
Transport Minister Benoit Charette said the work will also replace aging infrastructure, including culverts, streetlights, drainage systems and interchange ramps, while improving video surveillance. Much of the construction is expected to happen during offpeak hours.
The province estimates the project will cost $360 million. A call for tenders is expected this summer, with construction set to begin soon and the full overhaul targeted for completion by the end of 2030.
