Boeing labor contract averts a strike with 17,000 workers and pay gains See how the 4-year deal boosts wages as Boeing pushes production and approvals
Boeing engineers and technical workers have approved a new fouryear labor contract, heading off a possible strike at the company. The agreement covers about 17,000 employees, including Boeing’s largest whitecollar union.
The contract includes an immediate 10% wage increase for ratification, along with annual raises of 4% and meritbased increases of up to 6%. The union said members in the engineering group voted 67.62% in favor, while the technical workers’ group approved it by 53.48%.
The deal comes as Boeing works to stabilize production and seek federal approval for new aircraft, including the 737 Max 10 and 777X. Boeing said it was pleased with the vote outcome.
