Jincy Roese scored 4:30 into overtime as the Minnesota Frost beat the Montreal Victoire 54 on Saturday in Game 1 of their PWHL semifinal series in Laval, Que. The win gave Minnesota a 10 lead in the bestoffive series and shifted homeice advantage away from Montreal, the regularseason champion. Roese, who was acquired at the trade deadline, scored her first career PWHL playoff goal after a shot that deflected past Montreal goalie AnnRenée Desbiens. Laura Stacey made league history for Montreal with the first hat trick in PWHL playoff history, but Minnesota answered with goals from Katy Knoll, Kendall Coyne Schofield, Grace Zumwinkle, Sidney Morin and Roese. Game 2 is scheduled for Tuesday at Place Bell.
