Toronto’s bike share system is preparing for heavier use during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, when officials expect more people to use active transportation to reach match venues and the FIFA Fan Fest.
To help reduce congestion on busy game days, the Toronto Parking Authority plans to create valetstyle dropoff areas where riders can leave bikes without using a dock. These locations are intended to make it easier to park bikes near key event sites and to keep more bikes available when spectators leave.
The city says about 10% of attendees are expected to arrive by bike, while most are projected to use transit or walk. Planned valet sites include Inukshuk Park, Ordnance Park, and Liberty Village, alongside road closures and parking restrictions around Exhibition Place and Toronto Stadium.
