Quebec election campaign heats up as party leaders target key issues across the province See how immigration and AI are shaping the race before voters head to the polls
Quebec’s main party leaders continued campaigning on the 30th day of the provincial election race, with the Oct. 5 vote approaching.
Leaders from the Coalition Avenir Québec, Quebec Liberal Party, Québec solidaire, Parti Québécois and the Conservative Party of Quebec all worked to win support across the province.
Key issues on Thursday included immigration and artificial intelligence. Liberal Leader Charles Milliard criticized PQ Leader Paul StPierre Plamondon over the Parti Québécois plan to cut the number of temporary immigrants in Quebec from 500,000 to 250,000. StPierre Plamondon also spent part of the day in meetings, including a visit to Montreal city hall.
