Ontario Premier Doug Ford has called byelections in Scarborough Southwest, YorkSimcoe and Hamilton EastStoney Creek. The province said voting will take place on Sept. 3.
Scarborough Southwest has been vacant since February, while the other two seats opened after Caroline Mulroney and Neil Lumsden stepped down. Each riding now has candidates from the major parties ahead of the vote.
In Scarborough Southwest, the NDP, Liberals and Progressive Conservatives have all named contenders. Similar competition is taking shape in Hamilton EastStoney Creek and YorkSimcoe as parties look to win the open seats.
