A new Liaison Strategies poll shows the Ontario Liberals with a fivepoint lead over the Progressive Conservatives, as Premier Doug Ford’s approval rating falls to 24 per cent, the lowest the firm has recorded for him. The survey found 33 per cent of voters support the Liberals, compared with 29 per cent for the PCs and 21 per cent for the NDP. It also found 72 per cent of respondents disapprove of Ford’s performance and 71 per cent think Ontario is heading in the wrong direction. The results come as Ford’s government faces criticism over Torontoarea MPPs expensing hotel stays in the city. The poll was conducted Monday and Tuesday among 1,000 Ontarians and carries a margin of error of 3.1 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
