Gas prices in Metro Vancouver climbed overnight Tuesday, with some stations now charging about $1.98 to $1.99 a litre.
Analysts say the increase of roughly five to 10 cents a litre is being driven mainly by higher oil prices, linked in part to the ongoing conflict involving Iran and the United States, as well as rising tensions affecting global supply.
Petroleum analyst Dan McTeague said prices could move higher in the coming weeks if supply remains tight, but the outlook remains uncertain and depends on broader market conditions.
