Bitcoin nears $87K as short liquidations exceed $120 million
Bitcoin nears $87,000 as buyers clear sell orders and spark short liquidations Spot ETF inflows and volume may confirm the breakout—see what could drive next
Bitcoin climbed toward $87,000 on Oct. 2 after buyers pushed through a cluster of sell orders near $85,000, briefly lifting the price to $86,857 before it eased back below $86,000.
The move came alongside more than $120 million in Bitcoin short liquidations over the previous 24 hours, with liquidation levels building above $87,000 as the breakout developed.
Analysts cited by the article said the rally may need stronger spot Bitcoin ETF inflows and heavier trading volume to confirm broader support for the uptrend. US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $102.7 million in net inflows on Oct. 1, though that pace was below the heavier inflows seen earlier in September.
