Two young adults were killed and another was critically injured after an early Wednesday crash in Laval, Quebec.
Police said officers first spotted a vehicle without a licence plate on Ouimet Street around 1:20 a.m. When they tried to stop it, the driver allegedly sped away, and officers ended the attempt because they considered a chase too dangerous.
The vehicle later lost control and crashed into Atlantis Gym on Blvd. des Laurentides. The driver died at the scene, a 19yearold woman later died in hospital, and a 19yearold man remained in critical condition with lifethreatening injuries. Boulevard des Laurentides was closed in both directions while investigators and collision specialists examined the scene.
