Russia launched dozens of drones at Ukraine overnight, Ukrainian officials said, despite a unilateral ceasefire announced by Kyiv that began at midnight. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the attacks showed Russia was rejecting efforts to pause the fighting and save lives. He said Moscow continued shelling, drone strikes and glidebomb attacks, while also trying to push along the front line. Ukrainian and Russian officials gave different accounts of the night’s strikes. Kyiv said Russia launched 108 drones and three missiles, while Moscow said its air defences destroyed 53 Ukrainian drones over several regions, including Crimea and the Black Sea. The UN said civilian casualties have risen sharply in recent days as the war continues across multiple regions of Ukraine.
