Aarau shooting at rave leaves one dead, five injured in northern Switzerland Police probe the motive and urge witnesses to share photos or videos
A shooting at a rave in Aarau, in northern Switzerland, left a 22yearold woman dead and five others injured early Sunday, according to local authorities. Police said the incident happened at the Schachen area, where the Aarau Rave VOL. 7 event was being held at a horseracing track.
Aargau cantonal police said four men and another woman, all aged 24 to 27, were taken to hospitals with injuries ranging from minor to serious. Authorities said all six victims were residents of Switzerland.
Police were alerted shortly after 2:30 a.m., after the event was scheduled to end, and launched a large search for the person or people responsible. The motive and circumstances remain unclear, and officials cordoned off a wide area around the venue while emergency crews and specialized units responded.
Investigators have asked witnesses to share videos or photos from the event, and police in neighboring Germany have also assisted under routine crossborder cooperation. Organizers and performers described the attack as heartbreaking, while the investigation continues.
