On the evening of July 31, Chinese authorities announced that Xin Baoan, former Party Secretary and Chairman of State Grid Corporation of China, is being investigated for disciplinary review and supervisory investigation by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission over suspected serious violations of discipline and law.
Publicly available information shows that Xin Baoan was born in October 1960 and is from Huixian, Henan. He held multiple management positions at China Huadian Corporation and State Grid Corporation of China, including deputy general manager, fulltime deputy Party secretary, and general manager.
The report also mentioned that Xin Baoan no longer served as Party Secretary and Chairman of State Grid Corporation of China in March 2024.
