Xi Jinping and Kim Jong Un discuss pending issues at a Mulan House banquet in Pyongyang

Chinese President Xi Jinping and North Korean State Affairs Commission Chairman Kim Jong Un shared a dinner at Mulan Pavilion, the state banquet hall in Pyongyang, on the 8th and exchanged views on international and regional developments. According to Xinhua News Agency, the dinner was held at 7 p.m. that day, and President Xi and Madame Peng Liyuan entered together with Chairman Kim and Mrs. Ri Sol Ju. The attendees welcomed the two leaders and their spouses with applause. President Xi noted that China and North Korea are close neighbors and a relationship that shares a common destiny, and pointed out that this year marks the 65th anniversary of the signing of the ChinaNorth Korea Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance. Chairman Kim also said that the two countries had broadly discussed international and regional issues of mutual interest.
