Smilegate founder Kwon Hyukbin, CVO, has appealed the firstinstance ruling on divorce and property division, disputing the decision.
Previously, the Seoul Family Court ruled that CVO Kwon must pay his former spouse, Lee, 35% of Smilegate shares and 65 billion won in cash. Based on the stock value, Lee’s share is estimated at about 2.4867 trillion won, making it known as the largest property division in divorce litigation to date.
Kwon’s side argues that the firstinstance court wrongly assessed responsibility for the breakdown of the marriage and the degree of contribution to the formation of the assets, and says it intends to have the matter reexamined by a higher court.
