The Ministry of Ecology and Environment reported on June 2 that the third round of the sixth batch of central ecological and environmental protection inspections had publicly disclosed typical cases from four provinces, involving Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, and Guangdong. During frontline inspections, the inspection teams found issues in many places, including direct discharge of domestic sewage, inadequate rural living environment improvement, weak pollution prevention and control for livestock and poultry farming, and illegal dumping of solid waste. In Huludao, Liaoning, the inspection pointed out shortcomings in local sewage pipe network construction and blackodorous water treatment, with sewage still being directly discharged into rivers through overflow outlets in some areas. In Siping, Jilin, problems were exposed such as incomplete rural sewage collection facilities, improper disposal of livestock and poultry manure, and disorderly piling and dumping of garbage. In some areas of Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang, there were issues such as covert discharge of livestock and poultry manure, lax inspection of rural blackodorous water bodies, and inadequate control of agricultural solid waste. In Zhaoqing and Chaozhou, Guangdong, the inspection reported illegal dumping and landfilling of solid waste, disorderly piling of aquaculture waste, and random dumping of construction waste. Some of these problems have already affected farmland, forest land, and water bodies. The inspection teams said they would continue to verify the relevant situation and advance followup inspection work in accordance with requirements.
