Policy Chief Kim Yong-beom summarizes the one-year economic diagnosis and new tasks Check the changed indicators and future outlook in his remarks on the first anniversary of taking office

Kim Yongbeom, the presidential chief policy officer at the Blue House, marked his first anniversary in office by looking back on the past year’s economic conditions and sharing his thoughts on social media. He referred to the situation at the time of his inauguration, when retail sales had fallen for 13 consecutive quarters and housing prices were surging at the same time, and recalled that it was difficult to find a solution back then. He then explained that the present has brought different challenges, such as improving corporate earnings, the KOSPI reaching the 8,000point range, and the wondollar exchange rate forming in the 1,550 won range. He said that all of these changes are new economic tasks that must be addressed going forward.
