Typhoon "Bavi" Continues to Impact; Heavy Rainfall to Hit Multiple Areas

On July 14, the National Flood Control Headquarters said that the wind and rain impacts brought by Typhoon “Bavi” are still continuing. The heavy rainfall process in Liaoning, Jilin, Shandong and other places has not yet ended, and relatively heavy rainfall may also occur in Northwest China and the coastal areas of South China from the 14th to the 15th. That morning, the National Flood Control Office and the Ministry of Emergency Management, together with multiple departments, continued to consult and assess the development trend of the typhoon and rainfall, and made arrangements for flood control and typhoon prevention work in key areas. Among them, Jilin’s Level IV flood control emergency response has been upgraded to Level III, Liaoning remains at Level III, Heilongjiang and Shandong remain at Level IV, and the relevant working groups are still in Hebei, Liaoning, and Jilin to assist and guide flood control work. The consultation required that after all localities enter the critical period for flood control, they further tighten responsibilities, strengthen monitoring and forecasting, risk inspections, patrols and defenses, and emergency preparedness, with key attention to areas such as mountain flood gullies, river channels, urban underground spaces, and nursing homes and hospitals.
