Son Heung-min and Hwang Hee-chan adopted as witnesses for the KFA parliamentary hearing

The National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee has decided to hold a hearing on pending issues involving the Korea Football Association (KFA), and Son Heungmin (LAFC) and Hwang Heechan (Wolverhampton) have also been included on the list of reference witnesses. This hearing was pushed forward amid growing calls to review the process of selecting the coach and the overall operation of the association, after the South Korean national team ended the 2026 North American World Cup early with an exit in the group stage. Witnesses include figures involved in the operation of the association and the national team, such as former KFA President Chung Monggyu and former national team coach Hong Myungbo. However, reference witnesses are not legally required to appear, so whether they will actually attend remains uncertain. In particular, Son Heungmin has a scheduled Major League Soccer (MLS) fixture in the United States, so coordinating with his team schedule before and after the hearing is seen as a variable.
