SemiFive wins a 11 billion won AI semiconductor mass production order in Japan
SemiFive secures an 11 billion won supply contract with a Japanese AI client for HPC semiconductors It responded to demand for high performance and high efficiency, raising expectations for expanded global mass production
Domestic design house SemiFive has won a mass production supply contract for semiconductors for highperformance computing (HPC) from a Japanese AI semiconductor client. The contract is worth in the 11 billion won range, and the supply is scheduled to be delivered sequentially starting in the second half of this year.
SemiFive has been responding to the growing demand for highperformance, highefficiency semiconductors driven by the recent spread of generative AI and expanded data center investment. The company established a local subsidiary in Tokyo last year and built a customer support system there, and explained that this order has led to results in entering the Japanese market.
The company believes there is a possibility that followup supply contracts may continue based on this agreement. CEO Jo Myunghyun stated that the company will expand its global mass production business based on its proven advanced process platform capabilities.
