Controversy over youth housing in Yongsan Park: Yongsan-gu in Seoul has opposed considering the supply. Review the soil contamination verification and park development principles, and check the local issues.

Yongsan District in Seoul has expressed opposition to the Democratic Party of Korea Seoul City Party's review of supplying youth housing within Yongsan Park. In a statement on the 11th, Yongsan District said that the government and the ruling party are trying to view Yongsan Children's Garden, the Defense Acquisition Program Administration site, the military apartment site, and the officers' quarters site as housing supply locations, arguing that this goes against the principles of park development. The Seoul City Party is reportedly reviewing supplying up to 20,000 youth housing units on the outskirts of the main Yongsan Park site. The district emphasized that, under the Special Act on the Creation of Yongsan Park, the entire U.S. militaryreturned land must be developed as a national park, and said that soil contamination surveys and safety verification must be carried out first. In particular, it cited the detection of benzene in groundwater around Noksapyeong Station in April at levels far exceeding the standard, expressing concern that hasty development 추진 could lead to secondary environmental pollution and harm to residents.
