On July 7, the Department of Personnel of the Ministry of Education announced appointment and removal decisions at Southwest University: Wang Jinjun was transferred from president of Southwest University to Party secretary; Xin Xian was appointed president of Southwest University and deputy Party secretary; and Zhang Weiguo no longer serves as Party secretary of Southwest University. Public information shows that Wang Jinjun was born in August 1969. He holds a graduate degree, a PhD in science, and is a professor. He is a member of the Communist Party of China and previously served as president of Southwest University and deputy Party secretary. Xin Xian was born in May 1971. He holds a graduate degree, a PhD in management, and is a professor. He is a member of the Communist Party of China and previously served as a member of the Party Standing Committee and vice president of China Agricultural University. This personnel adjustment was made by the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Education and is part of the normal appointment and removal arrangements for university leadership teams.
