China expresses concern over the UAE attack, opposes escalating regional tensions

The Chinese Foreign Ministry stated: Deeply concerned about the attack on the UAE, and opposes escalating tensions in the Middle East Supports an immediate ceasefire and end to the fighting, and safeguards the security of Gulf countries and regional stability

On the 7th, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said that China is deeply concerned about the attack on the UAE and opposes any actions that further heighten tensions in the region. At the regular press briefing that day, in response to a question about attacks on facilities in Fujairah's petroleum industrial area in the UAE and on tankers, Lin Jian pointed out that China has always maintained that the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of Middle Eastern Gulf countries should be respected, and that civilians and nonmilitary targets should be protected. Lin Jian also said that the top priority is an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire and cessation of hostilities, to prevent the conflict from spreading further.
