The National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters Office Deploys Flood and Typhoon Prevention Work in Key Areas

On the morning of July 4, the Office of the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters and the Ministry of Emergency Management, together with the meteorological, water resources, natural resources, housing and urbanrural development, transportation, and other departments, held a joint consultation to assess the development trends of the typhoon and heavy rainfall, and made further arrangements for flood control and typhoon preparedness in重点 areas. It is currently the main flood season, and many areas in both the north and the south are simultaneously facing rainfall and typhoon impacts. The consultation pointed out that Guangxi, Hainan, Guangdong, and other places still need to continue做好 typhoon prevention and flood control work. Liaoning and Jilin have activated Level IV flood control emergency responses, and Hunan is also maintaining a Level IV flood control emergency response. Relevant task forces continue to guide防御 work on the front lines in Hainan and Guangxi. The meeting required that all localities strengthen monitoring and early warning, hazard investigation, transfer and evacuation, and emergency rescue preparations, with a focus on river mouths in flash flood channels, reservoir embankments, urban lowlying and waterlogged areas, underground spaces, as well as risk points such as nursing homes, construction sites, and homestays. They should strictly implement the requirements for predisaster warning notifications and personnel transfer, and minimize casualties and disaster losses as much as possible.
