Former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State James F. Moriarty said in Beijing on July 3 that China is an opportunity for the United States and for other countries around the world as well. He made the remarks while speaking to the media during the 14th World Peace Forum.
Moriarty pointed out that China has a population of more than 1.4 billion, which means vast human resources, a potential market, and available resources, as well as broad space for cooperation.
Speaking about artificial intelligence, he said that ChinaU.S. relations should not be understood simply within the framework of “competition and confrontation.” He believes that AI can also bring cooperative value in areas such as healthcare and climate change, and that related progress should not be seen as a zerosum competition between countries.
