Summary of the facts surrounding the Cho Hee-dae rage theory, and key points from the Chief Justice Administration Officer's response to the National Assembly Quickly look into the controversy over the re-recommendation of Supreme Court justices and the background of the court's decision
Chief Justice of Court Administration Noh Kyungpil said on the 28th during an urgent inquiry by the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee that the socalled 'rage theory' regarding Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Cho Heede was not true.
Regarding claims that Chief Justice Cho had become angry over the issue of renominating candidates for Supreme Court justices, Noh said, "That never happened," and denied as untrue reports that he had said, in effect, "This is the first time I've seen him get that angry."
However, he explained that the conclusion itself — that Chief Justice Cho decided not to accept the Presidential Office's request to renominate candidates for Supreme Court justices — was correct. He also acknowledged that the Court Administration Office had practically reviewed a renomination plan.
