“Four Seasons Children's Reading · Scholarly Campus Tour” Launches, Library-School Collaboration Brings Quality Reading into Schools
The Four Seasons Children's Reading Scholarly Campus Tour brings high-quality children's reading resources into schools, linking multiple library reading corners, expert school visits, and study tours to advance simultaneously, helping children develop a love of reading and the ability to read well
Recently, the National Library of China launched the special initiative “Four Seasons Children’s Reading · Bookish Campus Tour” in Beijing, with the aim of systematically bringing highquality reading resources for children into schools. This project is a new measure introduced after the implementation of the Regulations on the Promotion of Reading for All, marking the further extension of “Four Seasons Children’s Reading” from public libraries into campus settings.
Since its launch in 2023, “Four Seasons Children’s Reading” has cumulatively recommended 395 highquality children’s books for minors nationwide. This “Bookish Campus Tour” will focus on recommended reading lists for primary school and middle school levels, and, under the coordination of the National Library of China, be jointly implemented with public libraries and primary and secondary schools in Beijing, Shaanxi, Qinghai, Guangxi, and other regions, exploring a collaborative service model of “library + campus.”
The project will be carried out through a combination of online and offline approaches, including setting up reading corners in schools, organizing experts to visit campuses, creating reading growth profiles for students, and conducting themed reading roadshows and library study tours. At the same time, students will be encouraged to share their reading experiences through recitations, book recommendation videos, drawings, and book reports. Relevant achievements will also be continuously promoted through the National Library of China’s new media platforms.
