Government to Release Housing Supply Status Every Two Weeks

Check the progress of construction starts, sales, and move-ins every two weeks through regular housing supply disclosures. Government briefings increase supply predictability and allow faster tracking of the trend toward rebuilding trust.

The government has decided to disclose the progress of housing supply on a regular basis every two weeks. The Office of the Prime Minister said that Prime Minister Han Seongsook held a meeting of relevant ministries at the Government Seoul Complex on the 30th and made this decision. The government plans to hold briefings every other Friday at 11 a.m. starting on the 16th of next month. Officials from the Office for Government Policy Coordination and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport plan to explain the supply process, including housing starts, permits, sales, and moveins, and will also take questions. Prime Minister Han emphasized that since it takes a long time for housing supply to lead to actual results, the public should be able to check the progress. She also said it is important to restore trust by increasing predictability regarding supply.
