China Successfully Launches Zhuzhou Space Interstellar PIESAT-2 Satellites 13~16
GalaxySpace SAR satellite launch successful, PIESAT-2 satellites 13~16 entered orbit See how synthetic aperture radar and onboard intelligent processing improve remote sensing efficiency
At 18:50 Beijing time on September 19, China used a Long March 2D carrier rocket at the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, employing a "one rocket, four satellites" method to place Zhuzhou Taikong Xingji PIESAT2 satellites 13 to 16 into their designated orbit, and the mission was a success.
These four satellites were independently developed by GalaxySpace. They are SAR synthetic aperture radar satellites, equipped with highresolution SAR payloads as well as onboard intelligent processing, mission planning, and other capabilities. They can complete data screening, preprocessing, and information extraction in orbit, improving the efficiency of remote sensing data processing.
GalaxySpace said that, as of now, the company has launched 53 independently developed satellites, including more than 10 SAR satellites. This mission was also the 668th flight of the Long March series carrier rockets.
