On June 12 in Xuyi, Huai'an, Jiangsu, a folk parade themed “Wandering Through Scenic Mountains and Waters, Gathering in the Hometown of Crawfish” was held. The event stretched from the Crawfish Festival Plaza to “Ke” Street, covering a total distance of about 3.3 kilometers, and attracted more than 800 cultural volunteers to take part.
The parade featured multiple formations, including crawfish, cultural heritage, intangible cultural heritage, and youthful vitality. It not only showcased the local crawfish industry’s distinctive features, but also connected Xuyi’s historical and cultural memories through floats, traditional costume performances, and intangible cultural heritage elements. Residents and tourists along the streets actively joined in, creating a lively atmosphere on site.
The organizers said they hoped to make history, culture, and the city brand more vibrant through a highly participatory format. The report also noted that in 2025, Xuyi received 9.9 million tourist visits, with cultural and tourism spending exceeding 10 billion yuan; the local crawfish industry’s total output value reached 40.8 billion yuan, and the brand’s influence continued to grow.
