Two departments deploy flood safety management work for enterprises

According to a message from the WeChat public account of the Ministry of Emergency Management, the Office of the National Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters and the Office of the State Council Safety Committee recently jointly issued a notice requiring localities and relevant departments to further strengthen flood control and safety management for enterprises, guard against the risk of flooding disasters, and ensure the safety of major infrastructure and projects under construction during the flood season. The notice noted that since the start of the flood season, some areas have experienced relatively severe flooding disasters due to heavy rainfall, and some transportation, water conservancy, power, communications, and municipal infrastructure, as well as projects under construction, have suffered losses. In response, the notice requires flood control responsibilities to be strictly enforced; industry主管 departments should strengthen supervision and inspections, and enterprises should implement flood control responsibilities down to grassroots units and engineering projects. The notice also proposed strengthening hazard inspections in key areas and crowded places, establishing a listbased management and deadlinebased rectification mechanism; improving the transmission and sharing of warnings for heavy rain, flooding, typhoons, flash floods, and geological disasters, ensuring that highlevel warnings can be promptly delivered to the principal persons in charge of enterprises and key positions; and, at the same time, improving personnel evacuation plans in accordance with "one plan per enterprise" and "one plan per project," conducting emergency drills on a regular basis, and implementing the floodseason duty, leadershiponduty, and information reporting systems.
