The incident occurred around 5 p.m. on the 16th inside Bus No. 100, which was passing near Jinnam Elementary School. The bus pulled over to the shoulder, and Myeong began chest compressions on the passenger who had been laid on the floor.
About a minute later, the passenger's breathing briefly returned, but then stopped again. A 119 paramedic team that arrived shortly after used CPR and an automated external defibrillator to restore the pulse. The patient was transported to a nearby university hospital and is receiving treatment, and the situation at the time was recorded on the bus's CCTV.
A paramedic said that initial treatment is extremely important for cardiac arrest patients and praised Myeong's swift response. Myeong said that in an emergency, anyone is reminded of their family, and he hopes more people will learn CPR.
