He Lifeng, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, conducted research on foreign trade and economic work in Inner Mongolia from July 14 to 16. He stressed the need to build the Inner Mongolia Pilot Free Trade Zone to a high standard, strengthen the momentum for port economy development, deepen international economic and trade cooperation, and accelerate the effort to make it an important bridgehead for opening up to the north.
During the research tour, He Lifeng successively visited the Manzhouli area of the China (Inner Mongolia) Pilot Free Trade Zone, Hailar and other places to gain firsthand understanding of the construction of the Pilot Free Trade Zone and economic development zones, port customs clearance, the operation of ChinaEurope freight trains, the development of the land port international logistics center, as well as the production and operations of relevant foreign trade, economic and manufacturing enterprises and their foreign trade import and export conditions.
He pointed out that the Inner Mongolia Pilot Free Trade Zone is an important platform for improving the country's pattern of opening up to the outside world. The next step is to strengthen institutional innovation, improve the efficiency of multimodal transport by rail and road as well as comprehensive port services, promote the development of crossborder ecommerce and crossborder logistics, and do a good job in risk prevention and control in key areas such as inspection and quarantine and crossborder data flows. At the same time, it is necessary to rely on local resources and geographic advantages to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of industries such as nonferrous metals and equipment manufacturing, promote green and intelligent transformation, and advance the coordinated development of manufacturing and service industries.
