Recently, the Standing Committee of the Shanxi Provincial People’s Congress deliberated and adopted the Measures of Shanxi Province for Implementing the Law of the People’s Republic of China on the Popularization of Agricultural Technology, which will take effect on September 1, 2026. This move aims to improve the agricultural technology extension system and facilitate the smoother introduction of agricultural science and technology into rural areas and fields.
Shanxi is located in an arid region and has relatively scarce water resources. The newly revised measures make specific provisions centered on organic dryland farming, clearly promoting technologies such as simplified cultivation, watersaving and waterstorage methods, and the application of green agricultural inputs, in order to support the quality improvement and efficiency gains of local特色 agriculture.
