Wang Xiaohong Conducts Research in Jilin, Emphasizing Strengthening Innovation-Driven Development to Support the Comprehensive Revitalization of Northeast China

Xinhua News Agency, Changchun, June 27. Wang Xiaohong conducted an inspection in Jilin from June 25 to 26. He said it is necessary to implement the arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, seize development opportunities, promote the integration of innovationdriven growth and policy support, and advance highquality development and comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China. During the inspection, Wang Xiaohong successively visited relevant enterprises and factory areas in Changchun and Jilin cities to learn about production and business operations as well as the research, development, and application of new technologies and new materials. He stressed that the real economy should be given priority, and that the industrial layout should be optimized around fields such as automobiles, petrochemicals, new energy, new materials, and biomedicine, so as to promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries and cultivate strategic emerging industries and future industries. He also pointed out that enterprises should be brought into full play as the main drivers of innovation, basic research and breakthroughs in key core technologies should be strengthened, and efforts should be increased to protect intellectual property rights and enhance independent innovation capabilities. In addition, a longterm mechanism for law enforcement involving enterprises should be improved, the business environment optimized, and safety risk inspections and rectification strengthened, so as to provide safety guarantees for highquality development.
