The People Power Party argued on the 11th that Kim Yongbeom, Chief Presidential Secretary for Policy at the Blue House, should take responsibility for policy failures and resign. In a commentary, Chief Floor Spokesperson Choi Eunseok said that Mr. Kim has been leading and pushing forward policies on real estate and the financial market, and that if the results are a failure, he should bear responsibility as a public official. He criticized Mr. Kim for saying in a briefing the previous day, while mentioning the holding of a major forum on real estate policy, that the government does not believe it knows all the answers. He also criticized the current administration's economic policies, citing the rise in apartment prices in Seoul, the growing burden of monthly rent, and the high exchange rate and inflation.
