According to the Changwon City Council, Councilor Kim resigned as of the 4th, and her resignation letter was submitted for “personal reasons.” However, the specific reason was not disclosed.
Councilor Kim applied for the People Power Party nomination to seek a second term, but the Gyeongnam Provincial Party nomination management committee decided to cut her off on the 17th of last month. She had previously posted remarks related to Kim Hyeonji, the First Deputy Chief of the Presidential Office, on social media and was later referred to prosecutors on defamation charges.
