The government is launching largescale support to rapidly commercialize AI application products and services that the public can readily feel the impact of. The Ministry of Planning and Budget announced on the 19th that it has selected 229 projects for the 'AI Application Product Rapid Commercialization Support Project,' jointly promoted by 11 ministries, and will invest a total of 754 billion won. The selected projects include an automatic harvesting robot for agriculture, an autonomous rescue system that detects falls into the Han River, and a smarthomelinked service that helps care for the elderly. Drone safety management for highrisk industrial sites, construction demolition robots, and autonomous robots were also included among the support targets. The government explained that many of the projects are structured to be developed together with companies that will actually introduce them, and said it plans to provide parallel support in resolving regulatory difficulties and securing sales channels. It also expects the effort to benefit the domestic AI ecosystem, as a significant portion of the projects are expected to adopt Korean AI models and AI semiconductors.
