On July 27, a spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Japan responded to a reporter's question regarding Japan's announcement that charges had been filed against Murata Kota.
The spokesperson said that on March 24, Murata Kota forcibly entered the Chinese Embassy carrying a knife and issued violent threats against China, seriously violating the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and also seriously infringing upon China's sovereignty and dignity, and threatening the safety of Chinese diplomatic personnel and diplomatic premises. The spokesperson said that the facts of the case are clear and the evidence is conclusive.
China also pointed out that this incident exposes the problems of farright ideology and forces within Japan, as well as the impact of the Japanese government's erroneous policies on major issues affecting ChinaJapan relations, such as history and Taiwan.
