Lin Jian Answers Journalists' Questions on the Philippines' Related Statement and China's Assistance to the DRC in Combating the Epidemic

In response to a question from a Reuters reporter on August 4, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said that the relevant Philippine statement was full of lies and malicious attacks, interfered in China’s internal affairs, and China firmly opposes it. Lin Jian said that a small number of antiChina forces in the Philippines issued the relevant remarks under the name of government departments in an attempt to seek political gain, cover up their maritime infringement actions, and undermine ChinaPhilippines relations. Regarding the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Promoting Ethnic Unity and Progress mentioned in the question, Lin Jian said that the implementation of this law will help better protect the legitimate rights and interests of all ethnic groups and provide legal safeguards for the cause of ethnic unity and progress. In response to China’s dispatch of the third batch of medical experts to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to assist in the antiepidemic response, Lin Jian introduced that the expert team arrived in Kinshasa on August 1, with members covering fields such as epidemiology, health quarantine, clinical treatment, and pathogen laboratory testing. China said it will continue to strengthen coordination with the Democratic Republic of the Congo and international organizations according to local epidemic needs, and support African countries in combating the Ebola outbreak.
