Henan's Tanghe County investigates and rectifies the issue of "being fraudulently issued loans"

Henan's Tanghe County has recently launched a comprehensive inspection and rectification effort targeting the issue of “loans taken out in others’ names.” Xinhua News Agency reported on June 7 that after media reports that there had been cases of residents in Shaobaisi Town of Tanghe County being subjected to “loans taken out in their names,” the local county party committee and county government, together with the Nanyang branch of the financial regulatory bureau and the Nanyang central branch of Henan Rural Commercial Bank, formed a joint investigation team and have conducted an onsite verification of the relevant situation. The investigation showed that the incident involved 3 people and 3 loans taken out in borrowed names, totaling 790,000 yuan. One of the loans, worth 200,000 yuan, was applied for using the name of a minimumlivingallowance recipient, and the related conduct involved borrowing someone else’s name to commit loan fraud as well as improper operations by staff of the rural commercial bank. At present, the loans of the residents involved and the subsistence allowance funds that had been automatically deducted have all been recovered, and the information on dishonesty subject to enforcement has also been deleted. The local discipline inspection and supervision organs and the discipline inspection commission of the rural commercial bank have imposed sanctions on 15 responsible persons; some have been expelled from the Party, placed on probation within the Party, and those suspected of crimes have been transferred to the public security authorities for further investigation.
