Anhui's Brain-Computer Interface Industry Accelerates Real-World Deployment

Brain-computer interfaces are accelerating clinical application, with Anhui teams driving the implementation of lower-limb rehabilitation and deep brain modulation Follow the latest progress to learn about approved products and hospital application scenarios

Recently, several braincomputer interface project teams in Anhui introduced progress in bringing the technology from the laboratory to clinical applications, and related companies and research institutions are promoting faster product rollout. In Hefei, Anhui Aibo Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. showcased a braincomputer interface lowerlimb exoskeleton robotic device. By collecting and analyzing the brain's motor intentions, the device helps people with lowerlimb movement impairments such as stroke and spinal cord injury with rehabilitation assistance. The team has cobuilt a joint laboratory with the Institute of Advanced Technology, University of Science and Technology of China, and is trying to improve recognition accuracy and stability through a noisereduction decoding algorithm. Another application comes from the noninvasive deep brain modulation system developed by Anhui Fuqing Medical Technology Co., Ltd. According to the company, the system uses temporal interference electrical stimulation technology to precisely stimulate deep brain regions without opening the skull. The related transcranial electrical stimulator was approved for market launch this March and has already been used in more than 200 hospitals across the country, mainly covering the fields of psychiatry, rehabilitation, and pain treatment.
